STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED TO FIGHT INTERIOR FIRES
VANCOUVER — The province is declaring a provincial state of emergency in the Thompson-Nicola regional district to assist with fighting forest fires in McLure, Barriere and surrounding areas, and to ensure a co-ordinated response to evacuating residents threatened by the expanding wildfire, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today.

TASK FORCE TARGETS DEATH, INJURY IN FOREST INDUSTRY
