NEW COMPENSATION FRAMEWORK ANNOUNCED

VICTORIA — Cabinet has approved a new compensation framework for senior political staff that will be effective today. The new salary ranges will apply to ministerial assistants, executive assistants, and some senior positions within the Premier's Office.

Premier Gordon Campbell joined grade 6-8 students participating in BCIT's Girls Exploring Trades and Technologies summer camp to announce the new Campus 2020: Thinking Ahead project that will help prepare B.C.'s post-secondary system to meet the needs of students and the province in the future.

VANCOUVER — The government of British Columbia launched a major initiative focusing on the future of post-secondary education today at the Burnaby campus of BCIT. Campus 2020: Thinking Ahead is designed to build on the strengths of B.C.'s post-secondary education system while discovering new approaches to expand the network of learning opportunities across the province.

Premier Gordon Campbell and former Olympic cyclist Lorne Atkinson during announcement of up to $2 million in funding for B.C. cycling infrastructure. At 85 years of age Mr. Atkinson rides an average of 50 km per week.

VANCOUVER — Cycling infrastructure projects in a dozen communities around the province will receive $2 million in funding to create more options for commuting and recreational cycling, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today.
