$33 MILLION FOR URGENT FLOOD PROTECTION

SURREY — The Province is providing $33 million to local governments, diking authorities and various ministry led projects across B.C. for critical flood protection projects that can be completed before spring runoff, Premier Gordon Campbell and Minister of Public Safety John Les announced today.

PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCES ECOTRUST FUNDING FOR B.C.
Premier Gordon Campbell joined Prime Minister Stephen Harper to view a hydrogen fuel cell car in Vancouver, where the Prime Minister announced B.C. will receive $199.3 million from the federal government's new Canada ecoTrust fund to support projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

VICTORIA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper, joined by British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell, today announced that Canada's New Government intends to provide British Columbia with $199.3 million, as part of a new Canada ecoTrust to support provincial projects that will result in real reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants.

Premier Campbell spoke at the Vancouver Valuation Summit on March 2, 2007. The conference examined how environmental sustainability adds tangible value to business and investment. The Premier along with industry stakeholders and professionals signed the Vancouver Accord--a commitment to begin the process to embed sustainability into valuation and appraisals.
