2003-02-25 - Lt.-Gov. Iona Campagnolo and Premier Gordon Campbell with Beverly Nann of Burnaby during a ceremony Feb. 25, 2003, in which 112 outstanding British Columbians were presented with the Queen's Golden Jubilee commemorative medal at Government House in Victoria. Nann, a Chinese Canadian, has devoted her life to promoting understanding and mutual respect among ethno-cultural communities. She helped pioneer, develop and manage organizations dedicated to easing the way for immigrants.
2003-02-25 - Murray Goldman of West Vancouver with Premier Campbell and Lt.-Gov. Campagnolo after receiving his Queen's Golden Jubilee commemorative medal. Goldman, who built a men's retail clothing business that eventually became one of B.C.'s best-known chains, is also a founding member of Big Brothers of British Columbia. The medals recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to their communities, province or country, either through their careers or volunteer work.
2003-02-25 - The Premier, Brentwood Bay artist Roy Henry Vickers and the Lieutenant-Governor at Government House. Vickers was one of 112 outstanding British Columbians who was presented with the Queen's Golden Jubilee commemorative medal Feb. 25, 2003. He is best known around the world for his limited edition prints. He is also an accomplished carver, design adviser of public spaces, and publisher and author of several successful books, as well as being a recognized leader in the First Nations community and a spokesperson for recovery from addictions and abuse.
2003-02-25 - Yosef Wosk, a Vancouver philanthropist and community leader, with Premier Campbell and Lt.-Gov. Campagnolo, at the Queen's Golden Jubilee award ceremony, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Queen's reign and recognizing outstanding British Columbians for their contributions. Wosk is a rabbi, author, religious art consultant, musician, businessman, and an academic who is director of interdisciplinary programs in the department of continuing studies at Simon Fraser University. He founded the Academy for Independent Scholars as well as the Philosophers' Cafe, one of SFU's most successful programs.
2003-02-22 - Premier Gordon Campbell joins former Canadian Olympian Charmaine Crooks, and 2010 Bid Corporation chair Jack Poole in celebrating a resounding "Yes" vote from Vancouver's Olympic plebiscite. The February 22nd plebiscite saw Vancouver citizens vote 64 percent in favour of hosting the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

2003-02-15 - International Olympic Committee member and former Olympic runner Charmaine Crooks, left, and Team BC wheelchair basketball athlete Jocelyn Tomkinson with Premier Campbell at National Flag Day celebrations. The event was also a send-off ceremony for Team BC athletes, who will compete in the Canada Winter Games at Bathurst, New Brunswick, at the end of the month.
