The event celebrates excellence and innovation in the biotechnology industry in B.C., which is the fastest-growing biotechnology centre in Canada. To support the industry, the government has committed more than $900 million to increase technology research and training at B.C. colleges and universities.

Using the Internet, print materials, promotional DVDs and international advertising, the B.C. Market Outreach Network will provide global customers with factual information about B.C. forest practices. The $3-million Market Outreach Network is part of the government's $20-million investment in forestry marketing and product development.

An additional $125 million will be invested to replace the 10-Mile (Park) Bridge in the Kicking Horse Canyon as part of the provincial government's commitment to work with the federal government on $670 million in improvements needed to that section of the Trans-Canada Highway.
