Join us in 2008 when we’ll celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of Anne of Green Gables. Across Prince Edward Island, Anne enthusiasts will enjoy a year-long celebration of L.M. Montgomery’s imagination, inspiration and creativity.

Celebrations will include academic and cultural events such as the 2008 L.M. Montgomery Institute’s biennial international conference, the Charlottetown Festival’s production of Anne of Green Gables - The Musical™, the annual L.M. Montgomery Festival and much more.

If she were alive today, the Island's most well-known author, L.M. Montgomery, would be overjoyed by the continuing interest in most famous character, Anne of Green GablesTM. The novel has fans from all around the world and has generated curiosity about the places Montgomery lived in and wrote about.

The story about a little red-haired orphan, of famed novel Anne of Green Gables, is a story with truly universal appeal. Set in turn-of-the-last century PEI, the novel has been translated into 17 languages. In 2008, the Charlottetown Festival will once again feature Anne of Green Gables – The MusicalTM, Canada's longest running and most beloved musical, a highlight of the Festival since its inception in 1965.
