Yukon Liquor Corp Photo Identification Change In Service

WHITEHORSE - Photo identification used for confirming age of majority, previously issued at the Yukon Liquor Corporation's Whitehorse store, will now be provided by the Motor Vehicles Branch on Steele Street in Whitehorse. This change only affects Whitehorse; all rural community identification services will remain the same.

Effective Wednesday, May 23 the Yukon Liquor Corporation photo identification will only be available in Whitehorse at the Yukon Motor Vehicles office, located on the main floor of the Lynn building, 308 Steele Street. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Photo identification is extremely important for a number of personal uses in our modern world," Jim Kenyon, minister responsible for the Yukon Liquor Corporation, said. "We anticipate Whitehorse residents will appreciate the convenience of acquiring their photo ID in one central location."

This change in service comes as a result of renovations presently underway at the Whitehorse liquor store where a new floor plan is increasing product space to better serve customers.

The Yukon Liquor Corporation conducted a customer service survey last summer which gathered suggestions from the public on how the Whitehorse store could better serve them.  Many of those surveyed suggested updating the appearance of the store and making changes to the layout so customers can easily find desired products.

Survey respondents provided a wealth of other suggestions that are being considered to enhance customer service and satisfaction. The complete results of the customer service survey are available on-line at the Yukon Liquor Corporation’s website: www.ylc.yk.ca.
