Get the Right Mix for Your Next Event

WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Liquor Corporation (YLC) has released a new booklet, in response to customer requests, to help hosts plan stress-free and enjoyable events. Good Mix is a valuable guide to responsible entertaining.

"When you host any type of event where liquor is served, you want your guests to enjoy themselves and, once it’s over, to get home safely," Jim Kenyon, minister responsible for the Yukon Liquor Corporation, said.  "We’ve designed Good Mix to help you have fun and keep everyone safe at your get-togethers."

This new booklet is a modernized version of the “HOST” responsible entertaining guide first introduced in 2002 as a joint initiative with most other Canadian jurisdictions. The focus of the book is to offer advice and tips to help ensure that parties are safe and fun for everyone.

Public response to the original guide was positive and requests for the publication continued, long after the supply was exhausted.

YLC's mandate is to encourage social responsibility and increase public awareness. With that in mind, the publication has been updated with new non-alcoholic mocktail recipes and responsible hosting tips. Hosts will also find helpful consumer information including suggestions for pairing a variety of foods and drinks.

Good Mix is available free at Yukon liquor stores while quantities last. You can also find out more about YLC’s responsible drinking initiatives on the Web site at www.ylc.yk.ca.
