Interested in selling and distributing your products in the province of British Columbia?

All beverage alcohol products sold in British Columbia must be imported by a local agent or supplier. Local agents and suppliers must be licensed by the BC Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) in Victoria. For more information, please contact the LCLB at http://www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/lclb/ (or http://www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/lclb/applicants/agents/information.htm) or by phone toll-free at 1-866-209-2111. Please note that licences are approved only when the applicant (prospective agent or supplier) obtains a registration approval from the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) since the Liquor Distribution Act states that the LDB is the importer of record for any beverage alcohol in BC.

All products must first be registered—approved for general sale and distribution in the province. To sell your products (i.e. list) in government liquor stores (BC Liquor Stores), a separate listing application must be submitted. Obtaining a listing with the LDB will depend on various criteria. A registration approval does not guarantee distribution through the government liquor store (BC Liquor Stores) network.

To obtain a package of information on LDB policy and procedures for listing, please send your mailing address via e-mail to communications@bcliquorstores.com. You may also use the Contact Us feedback form or call 1-604-252-3215 or 1-604-252-3216.

*Agent refers to the person or company appointed by the supplier to act as its agent in BC. Supplier refers to the manufacturer, producer or distributor of the liquor and is the seller of the liquor to the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB).
For products manufactured outside of Canada (i.e. imported), the LDB will purchase through the BC agency authorized by the manufacturer to represent them. Where the product is produced or manufactured in Canada, the LDB may purchase directly with the supplier.
