Waste Management

The objective of waste management is to treat waste as a resource by sorting it into recyclables, compostables and remaining waste materials. Materials such as paper, plastics, metal and glass are recycled, organics such as food and yard waste are composted, and the remaining residuals are disposed of to landfill sites or incinerated. The Island Waste Management Corporation is responsible for the disposal of solid wastes on Prince Edward Island.
