Provincial Land Provincial Land is the land owned by the Government of Prince Edward Island. Under the provisions of the Public Works Act, the Minister of Transportation and Public Works holds title to all Provincial Lands on behalf of all government departments.
The Department of Transportation and Public Works in turn delegates the management of Provincial Lands to departments for their management.
The Properties Section of the Department of Transportation and Public Works manages Provincial Lands. The Section's mandate is to provide high quality and timely policy advice to the Government of Prince Edward Island on all matters related to Provincial Lands (rail lands/public roads), to provide quality services to all our clients in the areas of Provincial Land management, to manage the province's real property assets to their "highest and best use"; and to stimulate and/or support the economy of Prince Edward Island. Our clients include the public-at-large, departmental staff, other government departments and agencies, federal government, municipal governments, legal profession and land surveyors.
