The Nova Scotia Provincial Library negotiates and administers access to commercial on-line databases on behalf of a consortium of libraries. Consortium members include public libraries in NS and PEI, the Nova Scotia Community College and some NS government libraries. For a description of databases currently available, please click here. Access to the Gale databases is available at your local public library or from home or work with a valid regional library card.

The Nova Scotia Provincial Library provides a back-up reference service to Nova Scotia's libraries. This service assists libraries that cannot answer users' questions with their own resources.

The Provincial Library does not serve members of the public directly but provides information to all Nova Scotians through their local library.
