Innovatech du sud du Québec is a venture capital company whose mission is to support the capacity for technological innovation of companies, enhance their competitiveness, and thus contribute to economic growth and job creation within its territory.

Eligibility Criteria

To submit a funding proposal to Innovatech, companies and sponsors must simply present a business plan.Proposals are examined based on the following criteria:

• Quality and degree of technological innovation;
• Quality of the team in place;
• Potential economic impact;
• Sector of activity and its implementation within the territory.

Eligible Area

Territories served: Sherbrooke and the following RCMs: Acton, Arthabaska, Asbestos, Brome-Missisquoi, Coaticook, Drummond, La Haute-Yamaska, Le Granit, Le Haut-Saint-François, Le Val-Saint-François, Memphrémagog.

Eligible Activities

If a project is based on technological innovation and has strong commercial potential, Innovatech is interested in being a partner.  It can invest at any point in the various growth stages of the company.

The invested capital may be used:

• For research and development;
• For technology transfer;
• To market an innovation.

Summary

Innovatech du sud du Québec:

• Actively supports innovative projects in the fields of health sciences and information and industrial technologies in the pre-startup, startup, and growth stages of companies with strong growth potential within the territories of the eleven RCMs in the Estrie, Montérégie, Bois-Francs and Sherbrooke regions.
  
• Invests in various ways, including capital stock, debentures, and stock options, at various growth stages of the company, either for research and development, technology transfer, or marketing an innovation.
  
• Works to ensure the long-term success of partner companies by supporting and advising sponsors throughout the startup process, then follows up until the project reaches maturity.  Where necessary, it reinvests in these companies to help them reach their growth objectives.
