To Whom Does This Apply?

Persons requesting copies of customs documents, or the certification of copies of customs documents, pursuant to section 108 of the Customs Act.

Summary

In addition to governing the administration and enforcement of customs laws, the Customs Act also governs the making of regulations prescribing the circumstances in which fees may be charged for the making or certifying of copies of customs documents and the amount of these fees.

The Fees for Documents Regulations specify the conditions under which fees may be charged and the amount of such fees. These regulations and associated guidelines are detailed in Customs Memorandum D1-3-1. This memorandum is available on CBSA's Web site.
