Multilateral Market Access (TMA)

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (FAITC) through its Multilateral Market Access Division (TMA) advises Canadian exporters on customs duties and related issues with respect to the export of Canadian goods.

Eligibility Criteria

This service is available to exporters of Canadian products and persons mandated to act on their behalf.

Summary

This service provides information on customs duties and related issues to the exporters or persons mandated to act on their behalf. Those enquiring must provide the Harmonized System (HS) codes (or numbers).

Normally, your customs broker would be able to provide you with HS codes; however, you may obtain HS codes for export by calling Statistics Canada at 1-800-257-2434 or by browsing the online search mechanism Canadian Export Classification by commodity description.
