Yukon Physiotherapists Soon To Be Regulated
WHITEHORSE - Community Services Minister Glenn Hart announced today that a draft set of Yukon Physiotherapists Regulations are available for public review and comments.
Yukon Physiotherapists Regulations will regulate the profession under the Health Professions Act and will establish nationally recognized standards of practice, ethics, and education requirements for all practicing physiotherapists in Yukon.
"Yukon Physiotherapists were the first to express their interest in enacting regulations that will govern their profession under the new Health Professions Act," said Hart, "and thanks to the joint efforts of the working group we are a step closer to establishing a nationally recognized standard of physiotherapy care for Yukoners."
The draft regulations were developed by a working group represented by practicing Yukon physiotherapists and the Departments of Community Services and Health & Social Services.
To obtain an information package online go to http://www.community.gov.yk.ca/ or call Consumer Services at 667-5111. The deadline to comment is March 18, 2005.
