Mission Staff Announced For 2006 Arctic Winter Games

WHITEHORSE - Appointments to the mission staff for the 2006 Arctic Winter Games are being announced today by Glenn Hart, minister responsible for Sport and Recreation.

"I am extremely pleased with the quality of the mission staff named for these games," Hart said.  "These people are excellent examples of the quality of individuals involved in our sport system throughout the Yukon, and I know they will provide strong and competent leadership for our Yukon team in Alaska."

Based upon a review of applications and recommendations by Sport Yukon's Games Committee, a mission staff of 14 people has been named to lead Team Yukon at the 2006 Arctic Winter Games.

Joining Chef de Mission Trevor Twardochleb and Assistant Chef Tracey Bilskey are: Robin Armour, Sheri Blaker, Paolo Gallina, Vern Haggard, Charly Kelly, Monica Kulych, Dean Mastrangelo, Grant MacDonald, Chris Milner, Bunne Palamar, Val Pike and Dianne Strand.  They will be leading a Yukon team of approximately 350 athletes, coaches and managers in 19 sports and cultural activities.

The 2006 Arctic Winter Games are being held in the Kenai Peninsula area of Alaska and will take place March 5 - 11, 2006.
