The Government of B.C. funds over 150 programs, run by non-profit agencies and local police detachments, that provide information about the justice system, practical help, emotional support and referrals to other appropriate programs.
These services include a toll-free, province-wide telephone service called VictimLINK. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is accessible by TTY (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) and provides interpretation services for all the major languages spoken in British Columbia. VictimLINK operators provide information and referral services to all victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence.

Victim Services also works to make sure victims of crime receive the highest quality support by educating and training service workers and members of the criminal justice system. Refer to Fact Sheet on Victim Services and Community Programs [74KB] to read more about current programs and services supporting victims of crime.
