Submitting Your Application
How should I submit my resume/application?
Submit applications online so that your skills can be entered and made searchable in our database.
Do I have to answer all of the online questions even if the answers are in my resume?
Yes, questions with * are mandatory.
Is a cover letter required for all applications?
A cover letter is optional, however it helps us to get to know you better.
Can I upload more than five documents with my resume?
You can only upload a maximum of five documents.
What if I am unable to complete the application all at once?
If you need more information to complete your application, you will have to start from the beginning. You cannot save a partially
completed application for later completion.
If I apply for one position, will I be considered for other positions or do I need to apply to each job separately?
We encourage you to apply separately to all of the positions that interest you. It is also important to note that our recruiters
conduct regular searches of our database as new opportunities arise, therefore once we have your information, you may be considered
for positions to which you have not formally applied.
Can I submit my resume without applying to a specific job?
You can submit your resume to the Future Opportunities section of our site so that your skills can be entered into our database. Recruiters can then access your information as
new positions arise.
Do you have jobs available that aren't posted on your career site?
At BC Hydro, our practice is to post all available jobs on the Current Opportunities and student opportunities on the Student and New Grad Opportunities pages of our website; however, as new positions arise, we also search our database for available candidates. Please feel
free to submit your resume to our Future Opportunities section.
How will I know you received my resume/application?
Shortly after you apply online, you will be sent an email acknowledging that we received your application. If you do not receive
this email within 24 hours of submitting your application, please contact us or re-apply.
Can I contact the hiring manager or recruiter directly?
We prefer that all candidates use our online application tool so that applications are available in our database. Once your
application is received, our recruiters will review your application and be in touch with you if they have any questions about
your background or experiences. The recruiters know about our current and upcoming vacancies, and search our database regularly.
If they find a match between an opportunity and your skill set, they will be in touch with you.
How do I update my application?
Once your application has been sent you will need to reapply to update the existing application.
How is my resume/application evaluated?
Our expert team of recruiters reviews your application to evaluate your areas of expertise and skills. If selected, the next
step is the interview process.
