The Agri-Food Processing sector is a significant contributor to the provincial economy with 103 agricultural processors
employing over 3,900 people. A further 81 businesses are involved in the production of confectionary, baked goods, soft drinks,
beer and wine. Annual farm-gate sales in Nova Scotia were $450 million in 2004. Nova Scotia's Agri-Food processing sector then
added over $600 million dollars in value for a combined total of over $1 billion dollars (seafood not included).
Nova Scotia processed products range from blueberry juice, to feta cheese, from apple pies to herbal extracts,
