Bankruptcy

How do I file for bankruptcy?

If you decide to file for bankruptcy, the process must be handled by a trustee.

Any trustee that is licensed to practise in the Yukon can handle your bankruptcy. Please look in the Yellow Pages of your telephone directory under "Bankruptcies-Trustees" to find the name of a bankruptcy trustee for the Yukon.

You can pick up a copy of an information package on bankruptcy from a trustee when you file for bankruptcy, or from the Court Registry in Whitehorse.

For further information on bankruptcy, contact the Registrar in Bankruptcy (listed below under "Contact Us") or the Federal Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
