WELCOME
The Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO), at times referred to as the Office of the Fire Marshal, is an organization within the Yukon Territorial Government, belonging to Community Services, Protective Services Branch.

MISSION
Reduce the loss of life and property to fire and other related emergencies throughout the Yukon.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Continuously improve life safety and fire protection through leadership, education, enforcement, and program development.

WHO WE ARE
The Fire Marshal and Deputy Fire Marshals work with many different agencies and personnel to meet the Goals, Objectives, and Mission of the office, being responsible for public life safety and fire education; as well as, the funding, training and administering of Fire Departments in the Yukon’s communities.

ROLE

• Assist and work with people throughout the Yukon
• Perform Fire and Life Safety Inspections throughout the Yukon: 
  - Schools & Day Care Facilities 
  - Public Assembly Buildings 
  - Hotels and/or Motels 
  - Restaurants
  - Camps 
  - More
• Support community and municipal Fire Departments throughout the Yukon:
  - Yukon Fire Departments 
  - Firefighting and Fire Fighter Training 
  - Public Education and Fire Prevention 
  - Fire Scene Determination and Cause
• Ensure Acts and Codes of Yukon and Canada: 
  - Yukon Fire Prevention Act 
  - Yukon Gasoline Handling Act 
  - National Building Code of Canada 
  - National Fire Code of Canada 
  - Yukon Occupational Health and Safety 
  - Underground Fuel Storage Tanks
• Support agencies throughout the Yukon: 
  - Association of Yukon Fire Chiefs (AYFC) 
  - Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) 
  - Energy Mines and Resources (EMR) 
  - Environment 
  - Wildland Fire Management (WFM) 
  - Yukon Housing Corporation
