Fair and Friendly Exchange

The Department administers the Fair & Friendly Exchange program, which is designed to encourage fair exchange rates offered to US visitors. Tourism operators who participate can show our US customers they appreciate the worth of a dollar -- and their valuable business.

Nova Scotia Department of Tourism and Culture and the Nova Scotia Tourism Partnership Council invite you to become a participant of an exciting and innovative visitor service program which will enable you, the operator, to identify your business as one which offers french language services. By promoting your ability to deliver visitor services in French, you will gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace, meeting the needs and expectations of an increasingly important market in Nova Scotia.

Open Door Program

The Open Door Program has been created by the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism and Culture as a way of promoting and increasing product knowledge within front line staff of all Visitor Information Centres in Nova Scotia, Check In Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Museums and National Historic Parks & Sites. The overall objective of the program is to promote Nova Scotia's tourism industry by familiarizing front line staff about the many unique tourism products, services and accommodations throughout the province.
