Components of the Canadian Ice Service

Ice/Weather Information Service

Similar to the main Canadian Ice Service Web site, Ice/Weather Information Service has added weather and marine products to complete the ice and iceberg conditions products.

The goal of the service is to include comprehensive information relevant to the marine community in one convenient location. Products include:

  • ice and iceberg charts;
  • ice and iceberg bulletins;
  • ice model charts;
  • selected weather products.

You may subscribe, at no cost whatsoever, to access all the information you want.

Floe Edge Information Service

The Floe Edge Information Service monitors floe edge positions within selected regions of the Canadian Arctic.

The products on the site deal with information to help you track the development and break-up of large floe edges within a specified region. They include:

  • winter position of floe edge (current vs. normal);
  • recent location of floe edge; and
  • related weather products.
