Minister Lang To Attend Convention In Mining Finance Capital

WHITEHORSE  Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Archie Lang and senior officials will be attending an international mining convention, trade show and investors' exchange in Toronto next week.

The 74th annual convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), March 5 - 8, is considered the principal event in the world of mining. PDAC brings together a wide range of people and companies from all over the globe, who are involved in the search for and development of new mineral deposits.

"Toronto is the mining finance capital of the world and the PDAC convention is an ideal venue to meet with the major players in the resource sector," Lang said. "I will be meeting with senior company representatives to promote mining in the Yukon and get the word out on the wealth of resources here."

Energy, Mines and Resources will have display booths at the convention to highlight the territory's mineral resources, exploration activities, regulatory regime, incentives, permitting process and the work of its Yukon Geological Survey branch.

More Yukon mining information is available at www.yukonmining.com, and information on PDAC can be found at http://www.pdac.ca.
