Agriculture Research And Demonstration Field Day

WHITEHORSE – The public is invited to the Yukon Agriculture Branch’s research and demonstration field day July 28.

"The agriculture industry is growing in Yukon," Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Archie Lang said. "The government’s research site provides growers and researchers with new information related to northern agriculture."

The event is open to the public from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., with a presentation by staff at noon. The research and demonstration site is at the Gunnar Nilsson and Mickey Lammers Research Forest, which is located on the left hand side of the North Klondike Highway heading north, just before the Hotsprings Road.

"The Agriculture Branch conducts a variety of research and demonstration work to enhance the knowledge base of agriculture North of 60," Lang said. "This research provides advice to farmers in all aspects of farm management, production, conservation techniques and new farm technology."
