Women Entrepreneurial Center of Québec

Founded in early 2005 and headed by its promoter, Nicole Beaudoin, CEO of the Quebec Business Women’s Network Inc., the Women Entrepreneurial Center of Québec (WECQ) is a bilingual, non-profit organization based in Montreal. The WECQ offers English- and French-speaking women entrepreneurs throughout Quebec a one-stop center for specialized activities and coaching services in starting or expanding their businesses.

Mission

The WECQ’s mission is to offer all French and English-speaking women entrepreneurs in Quebec, either starting or expanding a business, the opportunity to optimize their entrepreneurial potential and to achieve success and financial independence.

Training programs

A wide range of training programs, seminars and workshops focused on business management for start-ups or expanding businesses are offered by the WECQ or by other specialized public or private institutions.

The WECQ training programs are provided in partnership with the Commission scolaire Marguerite Bourgeoys and grant an Attestation of Vocational Specialization (AVS) which is recognized by the ministère de l'Éducation du Québec. They also allow access to loans and scholarships under certain conditions.

Training programs in starting a business: Business Coaching
The Business Coaching training programs are for women either starting a new business or expanding an established business. The content of these entrepreneurial training programs is delivered in interactive group workshops led by women instructors with entrepreneurial experience. The goal of the training programs is to provide women with the necessary tools for forming and developing their business. Three specific approaches are offered :

• Business Coaching with a Creative Approach
• Bilingual Business Coaching with a Global Approach
• Business Coaching for Women Artists of All Disciplines

Other training programs, such as Femmes vers le sommet^TM or Planification stratégique, are intended for women entrepreneurs with previous business experience who are beginning a new business project, or women running a growing business who wish to construct a development plan.
