This is an interactive map-based vacation planning tool. Using ExplorePEI, you can discover all that Prince Edward Island has to offer: places to stay, things to do, festival and events, and services like grocery stores, hospitals and Internet access sites.

Your Itinerary

While you're exploring the Island with ExplorePEI, you can add anything of interest -- a place to stay, a lighthouse, a good-looking beach -- to your ExplorePEI Itinerary.

When you're ready, you can print out your itinerary, complete with maps showing you where everything is located. You can also add things to your itinerary using our search tools for places to stay, things to do, festivals and events and tours.

System Requirements

To use ExplorePEI, you need:

  • a Mac, PC, or Linux, or Unix-based computer
  • a screen resolution of at least 800 by 600 [how to tell]
  • "Cookies" enabled in your browser.
  • A PDF viewer (like Acrobat) to produce printable maps

The following browsers have been tested with ExplorePEI and are known to work without problems:

  • Mozilla (version 1 or later)
  • Netscape (version 6 or later)
  • Internet Explorer (version 5 or later)
  • Opera (version 6 or later; free version requires 1024x768 screen)

The following browsers are known to have problems with ExplorePEI:

  • Netscape (version 4 or earlier)
  • Internet Explorer (version 2)
  • Safari (any version)

Our interactvie map applications are developed using MapServer, an open-source, web-based mapping toolkit.
