The Government policy on Community Action: A crucial contribution to the exercise of citizenship and the social development of Québec works to make the Fonds d’aide à l’action communautaire autonome (fund for independent community action) an important tool for the recognition and support of community action by playing a leading role in the support of group advocacy.

Specifically, the fund (FAACA) ensures financial support to organizations and umbrella groups within the framework of the Financial support program for government orientations on community action and volunteer action:

Financial support for group advocacy organizations (French only), that support, on the national level, organizations and umbrella groups whose sole or main mission is group advocacy;
Financial support for the mission of multisectorial organizations under SACAIS (French only), that target support for:

community organizations with no government affiliation,
the two national umbrella groups duly mandated by the Québec Government within the framework for implementing government policy on community action and Government community action orientations on volunteer action,
organizations and umbrella groups under other government departments and bodies, within the framework of a specific administrative agreement in order to actualize government policy.
