Experience the Far North at the summit of Mont Jacques-Cartier or admire a land of contrasts on the plateau of Mont Albert. Activities lasting one hour begin at 12 PM and 1:30 PM every day, from June 25 to August 28.
Why is Mont Albert so unique? How do Arctic-alpine plants survive at such altitudes? What is the origin of the caribou that lives in Parc national de la Gaspésie? The answers to these questions and others will be provided by naturalists working out of the Discovery and Visitors Centre located just a few steps from Auberge le Gîte du Mont-Albert. A permanent exhibit will allow you to go from one end of the park to the other and to have an initial contact with the one-of-a-kind natural
elements found here. A park model presents an overview of the various trails. Centre hours vary according to the time of the year.
Self-Guided Trails
On the edge of Rivière Sainte-Anne, in the Mont-Albert Sector, the discovery panels of Sentier La Rivière trail will enable you to familiarize yourself with the life cycle of the Atlantic salmon over a distance of 1 km. In addition, a comic strip appearing on several panels located on the tundra of Mont Jacques-Cartier, describes the impacts of hikers on the life cycle of the caribou.
