Canoeing and Canoe-Camping

The waters of the park run calm at times, tumltuous at others, meandering along rivers and through lakes or racing down torrents. Rivière Valin winds around the foot of Mont Valin, offering some 10 kilometres of safe enjoyable canoeing that are sure to please intermediate paddlers. Two primitive campgrounds with platforms and pit toilets welcome campers. Lac Martin-Valin is also a fascinating sector to explore and is a great getaway.
Period: From June to October, 2007

Fishing
Day fishing for brook trout (speckled trout) is permitted in many lakes and rivers. Perhaps best of all is a magnificent day of fishing in the lakes around Martin-Valin. A Québec fishing licence is required and can be purchased at the Visitors Centre. Fishing packages with accommodations are also available.
The bodies of water of Parc national des Monts-Valin only contain brook trout (speckled trout) and there are no competing species.

New in 2008 : It is now possible to reserve your day fishing activity 4 months in advance. For example, if you want to fish on June 24, you should reserve on February 24. Online reservations and phone reservations start at 8:30 AM (1 800 665-6527). See Reservation Terms and Conditions and the 2008 Day Fishing brochure to find out when the different bodies of water open for fishing.
