Financial assistance services

By visiting the reception area of your local employment centre (CLE), you can obtain financial assistance services that meet your needs.

You have no financial resources or you are a low-income earner.

You may be eligible for last-resort financial assistance that will allow you to meet your basic needs, such as lodging and food. Also, you may be eligible for a temporary limited capacity for employment allowance, such as pregnancy. You could also receive a severely limited capacity for employment allowance depending on your physical or psychological condition. There are also special benefits to cover health-related needs (dental fees, medications, eye examinations, etc.) and for specific situations, such as a death.

You are under 25 years of age and you are eligible for the Social Assistance Program or the Social Solidarity Program.

The alternative jeunesse program is the way to go! If you are able to take active steps in finding employment and want to acquire personal, social and vocational self-sufficiency, this program is for you. In addition to financial assistance in the form of a youth allowance, it offers you personal coaching that respects your needs and your real situation with respect to the labour market.

You want to obtain assistance from your aid officer.

Do ask for information on available services and on your rights and obligations, as well as commitments to you. Your officer can help you by seeing to your specific needs and directing you to resources in the community in order for you to benefit from various types of aid.
