Location
This specific park, created under two laws, one provincial and the other federal, has an area of 1245 km2. It comprises the entire part of the bed of Rivière Saguenay located downstream from Cap à l'Est, as well as the northern half of the St. Lawrence Estuary from Gros Cap à l'Aigle upstream to Pointe-Rouge (Les Escoumins) downstream, all limited by the high tide line without flood or overflow.
From Québec City, the Saguenay - St. Lawrence Marine Park is 250 km northeast of Rivière-Éternité, 225 km from Tadoussac. It is located 15 km from La Baie.

Access for the Mobility Impaired
The following places have been set up to facilitate access for the mobility impaired.
- Discovery and Visitors Centre
- Information Kiosks
- Panoramic Lookout trail and access to the lookout (Baie-Sainte-Marguerite Sector), Sacré-Coeur

Public Transit
A public transit service offering access directly to the park is available for all municipalities located along the 138. There are also observation cruise and ferry services from Rivière-du-Loup and Trois-Pistoles, as well as a cruise service from Québec City. A ferry links Baie-Sainte-Catherine and Tadoussac.
