Location

Parc national du Mont-Mégantic is located in the enchanting village of Notre-Dame-des-Bois, approximately 75 km to the east of Sherbrooke. Do not confuse it with the City of Lac-Mégantic, located roughly 50 km northeast of the park. Here is the distance in kilometres between the main urban centres and the park:

Montréal Québec City Sherbrooke
Discovery and Visitor Centre 225 250 75

Climate

Since the mountain is at a high altitude, temperatures are colder in the park than in the cities. We strongly recommend that you bring warm clothing, no matter what the season. Hats and scarves are a must for stargazing, even in the summer!

For your information, since the temperature decreases by 1 ºC for each 100 m of altitude, it is 6 º colder at the park entrance than in Montreal and 11 º colder at the summit of the mountain than in Montreal!
