The Peace Forest District is one
of the larger and more challenging of
all districts in the province to effectively
manage. The district office is located
in the city of Dawson Creek, and from
there many communities such as Fort
St. John, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Hudson’s
Hope and Taylor are served. There are
many rural communities as well, too
numerous to mention, as well as a dozen
First Nations with historical ties and
interests in this area. The district
was created in the 2002 – 2003 restructuring
when the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek
Forest Districts were merged.
