Safety Information for Seniors

Criminals often regard older persons as easy targets for many types of crimes. Every elderly person should be aware of these crimes and how to prevent them.

The majority of crimes against seniors are non-violent. They usually involve con games and sweet-talk crimes. See the information in our Telemarketing and fraud sections.

Generally speaking, if you are approached by mail, telephone, e-mail or in person by a scheme involving the transfer of YOUR MONEY, avoid it.

"If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!"
