Proclamation Ceremonies
Elder Abuse Awareness Day was proclaimed in several locations this year in Nova Scotia. The Honourable Carolyn Bolivar-Getson, Minister of Seniors, read the provincial proclamation signifying June 15th as Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Valerie White, CEO of the Department of Seniors joined the Minister to launch the new Senior Abuse Awareness Campaign, including the announcement of the new Senior Abuse Line.

Information Kits
Many individuals and groups requested a copy of the Information Kit. The kits included a number of posters, brochures and posters on elder abuse (general), brochures on financial abuse of older adults, and kit folders with a series fact sheets. These were distributed across the province and were used in many different awareness activities.
