2010 LEGACIESNOW CONGRATULATES CANADIAN PARALYMPIANS

VANCOUVER — 2010 LegaciesNow and the Province of British Columbia congratulate Canadian Paralympians for their third place finish in the gold medal count at the 12th Paralympiad in Athens. The Canadian team finished in seventh place over all with 28 gold, 19 silver and 25 bronze medals. Sixteen B.C. athletes brought home 28 of the 72 medals.

MEMORIAL TO FALLEN POLICE AND PEACE OFFICERS UNVEILED
Premier Campbell and Solicitor General Rich Coleman joined B.C. law enforcement representatives to unveil the B.C. Law Enforcement Memorial honouring police and peace officers killed in the line of duty.

VICTORIA — Police and peace officers killed in the line of duty and their families are being honoured by a monument unveiled today at the legislature by Premier Gordon Campbell, Solicitor General Rich Coleman, and B.C. law enforcement representatives during the annual Police and Peace Office Memorial Service.

LANDMARK AGREEMENT MEANS BETTER PATIENT CARE FOR B.C.
Premier Gordon Campbell and his provincial counterparts signed a 10-year health funding agreement with the federal government that will provide the stable, long-term funding needed to improve health care for British Columbians.

VICTORIA — The new 10-year health care agreement signed by federal, provincial and territorial leaders provides the long-term stable funding needed to support reforms that will provide better care, reduced wait times and a sustainable health care system for all British Columbians, Premier Gordon Campbell and Health Services Minister Colin Hansen said today.
