PREMIER AND GOVERNOR SIGN CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT
Premier Gordon Campbell and Alaska Governor Frank H. Murkowski (left) signed a new agreement committing to increased co-operation between B.C. and Alaska on key issues such as economic development, energy, environment, mining, tourism, transportation and wildlife management.

VANCOUVER — Three western premiers and the governor of Alaska have agreed that they will task their energy ministers to develop a strategic action plan to prepare for and prevent delay in the Alaska Highway Pipeline project.

VANCOUVER — The Congress on Aging and Seniors' Issues held today in Vancouver will play a valuable role in the Province's work to meet its goal of providing the best system of support for B.C. seniors, Premier Gordon Campbell said today.

B.C. PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR SOUTH ASIA EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

VICTORIA — British Columbia will immediately contribute $500,000 toward relief efforts in South Asia in response to this weekend's devastating earthquake, Premier Gordon Campbell said today.

B.C. AND WASHINGTON COMMIT TO STRENGTHEN TIES
Premier Gordon Campbell and Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire met in Vancouver to sign a new memorandum of understanding to pursue new partnerships related to trade, the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and other opportunities.

VANCOUVER — A memorandum of understanding between the Province of B.C. and the State of Washington will enhance trade opportunities and create stronger ties between the two jurisdictions, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today. The MOU was signed today by Premier Campbell and Washington Governor Christine Gregoire.

PREMIER'S NEW COUNCIL TO TACKLE SENIORS' ISSUES

VICTORIA — Premier Gordon Campbell held his first meeting today with the 18 members appointed to the new Premier's Council on Aging and Seniors' Issues, which will recommend how B.C. can best meet the needs of its growing seniors' population.
