HISTORIC FIRST FINAL AGREEMENT INITIALLED
Premier Gordon Campbell was joined by federal Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Jim Prentice and Chief Dominic Frederick to celebrate the initialling of the final agreement between the provincial and federal governments and the Lheidli T'enneh Band, the first final agreement to be initialled under the B.C. Treaty Process.

PRINCE GEORGE — British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell, the Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians, and Lheidli T'enneh Chief Dominic Frederick today witnessed the joint initialling of the first Final Agreement reached under the British Columbia Treaty Process.

PREMIER LAUNCHES GREEN CITIES PROJECT

VICTORIA — The Province will invest $40 million over the next four years in a new LocalMotion Fund aimed at getting British Columbians out of their vehicles as one element of the Green Cities Project to help B.C. communities improve environmental sustainability, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today in his speech at the annual Union of B.C. Municipalities convention.

PROVINCE TO HELP FUND VICTORIA SEWAGE TREATMENT

VICTORIA — The Province will contribute one third of the funding required to provide effective sewage treatment for the Capital Regional District (CRD), Premier Gordon Campbell announced today in his speech to the annual convention of the Union of B.C. Municipalities.

PREMIER OPENS $95-MILLION HEALTH CARE CENTRE
Premier Gordon Campbell joined Gordon and Leslie Diamond to open the $95-million Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre, a new world-class out-patient care facility at Vancouver General Hospital.

PREMIER HOSTS PROVINCIAL CONGRESS

The Conversation on Health was the focus of this year's Provincial Congress. The congress brought together all of British Columbia's members of the legislative assembly, members of Parliament and senators. It also included mayors from the province's 15 largest cities, the presidents of the five regional municipal associations, the president of the Union of B.C. Municipalities, and Aboriginal leaders.

PROVINCE PROCLAIMS OIL AND GAS WEEK IN B.C.

SUBMISSIONS INVITED FOR B.C. NON-FICTION AWARD

VANCOUVER — Premier Gordon Campbell and Keith Mitchell, chair of the British Columbia Achievement Foundation, issued a call today for submissions for the third annual British Columbia Award for Canadian Non-Fiction. Canadian publishers are invited to submit outstanding works of literary non-fiction for consideration by an independent jury panel. The $25,000 prize will be presented in Vancouver in spring 2007.

RUN FOR THE CURE IN VANCOUVER
Premier Gordon Campbell joined participants in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation's CIBC Run for the Cure in Vancouver to raise awareness and support research to find a cure for breast cancer.
