KICKING HORSE CANYON UPGRADE PROJECT
GOLDEN — Premier Gordon Campbell acknowledged the contribution of the 250 workers involved in the Kicking Horse Canyon Project after touring the second phase of the upgrade being done to one of the most dangerous and most important stretches of the Trans-Canada Highway in B.C.

OFFICIAL OPENING OF EXPANSION AND UPGRADE TO EAST KOOTENAY REGIONAL HOSPITAL
CRANBROOK — Premier Gordon Campbell today officially opened the doors of a $32-million renovation project at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH), to provide patients with a new emergency department, ambulatory care centre and front entrance.

PREMIER WELCOMES THE DALAI LAMA
Premier Gordon Campbell hosted a luncheon with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on September 10, 2006. They discussed the importance of compassion and dialogue, as well as the proposed Dalai Lama Centre for Peace and Education. The centre will be located in Vancouver and will be the world's first educational centre in his name.

PREMIER OFFICIALLY OPENS SURREY KABADDI STADIUM
Premier Gordon Campbell officially opened the new Kabaddi stadium in Surrey on September 9, 2006. The Province provided $250,000 to build the 1,400 seat stadium which was custom built for the sport.

PROVINCE TO MATCH FUNDING FOR RAISE-A-READER CAMPAIGN
