To Whom Does This Apply?

Mobile Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) treatment (chemical) and destruction (thermal) systems that are operated on federal lands and anywhere in Canada by or under contract with a federal institution.

Treatment and destruction of PCBs.

Summary

The Federal Mobile PCB Treatment and Destruction Regulations apply to mobile systems for the treatment and destruction of chlorobiphenyls that are operated on federal lands or operated by or under contract with federal institutions.

The Regulations require Ministerial authorisation and specify PCB release limits, operating standards, and emission testing methods.
