The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) is the marketing agency for over 85 000 farmers who grow wheat, durum wheat and barley in Western Canada. The CWB's role is to market these grains for the best possible price both within Canada and around the world.

The Canadian Wheat Board is the sole exporter of Prairie-grown wheat and barley, marketing western grain to some 70 countries around the world. The Canadian Wheat Board Act gives the CWB sole marketing authority for wheat and barley produced by the 85 000 grain farmers of Western Canada for export and domestic human consumption.

The Canadian Wheat Board Regulations govern permit books, producer's certificates and licenses. They also regulate the designation, transportation and pooling points of wheat and barley, as well as delivery contracts and payments.
