What does Labour Services do?

  • Answers inquiries and educates employers and employees about the Employment Standards Act (PDF 990KB).
  • Investigates wage complaints received from employees, third parties, and confidential claimants.
  • Consults with employers and payroll specialists about the application of the Act.
  • Reviews personnel policies for compliance with the Act.
  • Who is not covered by the Employment Standards Act?

  • Government of Yukon Employees
  • Employees subject to federal regulations, including bank employees, telecommunications employees, some First Nation employees, cross-border transportation companies, Internet service providers. (These occupations are covered by the Canada Labour Program under the Canada Labour Code.)
