Other Information Sources

• If you are looking for data for a particular commodity or region, a good source of data is Industry Canada's Strategis site. This site offers free downloads of international trade statistics and their Canadian Importers Database provides lists of companies importing goods into Canada, by product and city.

• The British Columbia Manufacturer's Directory may be searched to produce a list of firms in British Columbia identifying themselves as exporters.

• Statistics Canada has a search engine for Export Classification codes used in Canada, as well as a conversion utility to convert US Import HS10 codes to Canadian export HS8 codes. Another search utility on the Statistics Canada site enables the user to search for either Export or Import codes. Also, Statistics Canada provides a list of Standard Classification of Goods based on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System.

• Canada Border Services Agency has a list of Import codes used in Canada.

• The US Census Bureau has a list of Export codes used in the United States, while the US International Trade Commission has a list of the Import codes used in the United States.

• The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has information on Canadian trade missions and the latest news related to foreign trade.
