Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Files (PDF)

What are these files?
Adobe Acrobat files are visually-rich electronic documents. They have all the colour, graphics, and layout of the original publication, but can be read on more than one type of computer system, without the reader having the software that originally created the document. If you print it, your copy will be as faithful to the original as your printer can produce.

How do I view them?
You will need a copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader. This software is available free of charge from Adobe Systems, for almost all operating systems. To visit Adobe's site, and download the appropriate software for your system, go to the following URL: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Once you have retrieved the compressed file containing the software, run it in a temporary subdirectory, where it will expand into its constituent parts. Then, run the 'install' program. It will find your browser software and install itself. The next time you click on a PDF file, it will present the document properly in your browser window.
