COMRIF Partners

Through the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (COMRIF), the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario are working in partnership with Ontario municipalities to improve and renew public infrastructure across the province.

Government of Canada

Infrastructure Canada works with its partners to meet the evolving infrastructure needs of Canadian communities, and to support the quality of life of Canadians through a variety of programs, including COMRIF. The department leads national infrastructure initiatives in the form of research, policies and programs. Infrastructure Canada oversees COMRIF negotiations on behalf of the Government of Canada.

Industry Canada is helping make Canadians more productive and competitive in the knowledge-based economy, thus improving the standard of living and quality of life in Canada. Industry Canada is responsible for managing and implementing COMRIF in Ontario on behalf of the Government of Canada.

Government of Ontario

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal works to transform and improve the way the Ontario government determines and achieves its strategic infrastructure goals, including planning, financing, delivering and managing the province's investments in public infrastructure and affordable housing and for planning growth. The ministry oversees COMRIF negotiations on behalf of the Government of Ontario.

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs works to improve growth in Ontario's rural settings in a way that promotes a clean and healthy environment, sustains thriving local economies, and builds strong communities. The ministry is responsible for managing and implementing COMRIF on behalf of the Government of Ontario.

Association of Municipalities of Ontario

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) works to support and enhance strong and effective municipal government in Ontario. AMO's presence as a COMRIF partner brings an increased municipal perspective and ensures a direct communication channel with municipal governments.
