Frequently Asked Questions

Question

How were projects selected for funding?

Answer

Applications underwent a rigorous evaluation process that involved consultation with technical ministries and departments.

The COMRIF Joint Secretariat assessed applications using three criteria: health and safety, public policy priorities, and value for money, as outlined in the Intake Two Application Guidebook. Projects that best met these criteria, including support for federal and provincial policy directions such as reducing greenhouse gases, sustainable water and sewage systems, economic development and increased waste diversion, were selected for funding.
