Blind River, a community of approximately 4000 people, is less than 2 hours away from either Sault Ste. Marie or Sudbury via Highway 17 (Trans-Canada) on the scenic North Channel of Lake Huron.

In Blind River, there is a Seniors' Centre on Michigan Avenue, and it's doors are open to all Seniors. There are two clubs who run the Seniors' Centre.

The 50 Plus Club is an interactive social group with many interest and activities for the members. Some of the activities that are available are games, arts and crafts, quilting and much more. Lessons are available for most activities. The 50 Plus Club meets every Monday and Wednesday at the Seniors' Centre from 9 AM - 3PM, Fee: $10 per year.

Club270 members meet the first and third Thursday of each month a the Seniors' Centre. Activities include Pot Luck Meals, cards and games, education, trips out of town as well as joining in with the activities in the Town of Blind River. Fee: $5 per year.
