Initial clearing work is set to begin on the longest new road right-of-way in Saskatchewan to link more than 1,200 residents of Wollaston Lake and the adjoining Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation with Highway 905 in the far north.

 

A new Saskatchewan toll-free telephone number was officially launched today to make it easier for truckers and commercial carriers to get regulation information and technical advice.

 

 

Saskatchewan Highways and Infrastructure has implemented a successful pilot program that allows for 24-hour surveillance of high-traffic provincial highways during the winter months.

 

A total of $29.8 million worth of highway construction projects have been released as part of Phase 2 of Saskatchewan Highways and Infrastructure's 2007-08 Tender Release.

This follows the Phase 1 Tender Release in December, 2007 which included $63.3 million worth of projects, for a total of $93.1 million worth of projects up for bid to the road-building industry.

A total of $63.3 million worth of highway construction projects have been released as part of Phase 1 of Saskatchewan Highways and Infrastructure's 2008 Tender Release.

Among the projects slated for 2008 are the paving of two sections of Highway 11 including 12.1 kilometres (km) of highway north of Osler to south of Hague, and 11.3 km of highway north of Macdowall to the Junction of Highway 2.
